“I Am Enough - Detours of a B.A.D. Chic” is a one-act stage play that highlights some of the barriers between women. SoWright Theater hopes to bridge the gap by focusing more on our likeness, as women, rather than our differences. We want to celebrate the uniqueness of ALL women and use those differences to bring us together rather than separate us. We should never judge a book by its cover. No one knows the story behind the woman or can walk a day in her heels. Through this theatrical production, our goal is to start the necessary dialogue to evoke change in our communities. With many twists and turns throughout this story, we will ultimately redefine what it truly means to be “Enough” and give insight into learning to accept and love oneself…God’s way.

AUDIENCE
Although the targeted audience will be women it is not limited to just women. The message of “I Am Enough - Detours of a B.A.D. Chic” is a strong message of self-love and forgiveness for everyone.

SYNOPSIS
Founding member, Jackie Hensley, is thrust back into the music industry overnight when she finds out that she along with her former group mates of the legendary R&B group ‘B.A.D. Chics’ will be honored with a ‘Living Legend Award’. Stepping back into her former life means she will have to come face-to-face with the ghost of her past and face the group mates that left her behind and a dream she didn’t realize she still wanted. Sometimes the hardest promises to get over are the ones we make to ourselves. One woman’s success is another woman's detour.
