A "MANstructure: The Family - Breaking Barriers" is an inspirational one - act stage play that delves deep into the experiences of one family, offering an exploration of the challenges faced by today's fatherless generation and their broader impact on the community. In collaboration with three dynamic organizations – SoWright Theater Company, ArSAAM (Arkansas Summit On African American Males), and Serious Young Brothers – this powerful one-act interpretation of the original stage play aims to ignite conversations and inspire change.
At the heart of "MANstructure: The Family" is Clara Peters, a determined independent mother of two who, now a grandmother, bears a secret that could forever alter the fabric of her family life. For 25 years, Clara has kept this hidden truth, but as the story unfolds, audiences will witness the profound questions that arise: Will her revelation tear her family apart, or will it serve as a catalyst for healing and unity? One thing is certain—once the truth comes to light, Clara’s family dynamic will be irrevocably transformed.
Through the lens of Clara's experiences, our stage play addresses critical social issues, including fatherlessness, incarceration, violence/aggression, and family structures. These themes resonate deeply within communities today, making "MANstructure: The Family - Breaking Barriers" not just a story, but a crucial examination of life's complexities and the resilience needed to navigate them.
